Before we start
This slide show was recorded on a full sunshine day with
winds under 20 knots (40 km/h) when Reefjet did its "standard" itinerary.
The itinerary will vary depending on wind
conditions and tides. We have to go to different
places or do things in a different order some days
with the decision only possible on the morning of departure.
Now please scroll....
|
1. Be collected by our courtesy bus
We pick up from most accommodation and the main street
bus stops. The bus driver is probably John, who owns
the boat. Be sure to laugh at his jokes. He likes it.
|
2. Meet at the round about

You will be meet by one of the crew at the marina roundabout
and taken to Reefjet.
|
3. Sign on the boat

To ensure safety we have you sign back onto the boat
at every stop, so no one gets left behind!... (There
are worse places to be left behind)
|
4. Enjoy a complimentary tea, coffee
or chocolate

There are biscuits too. The broken ones taste just
as good (see photo).
|
5. Safety demonstration

We take your safety very seriously. Enjoy the show while
we go to the islands. Be sure to familarise yourself
with the nearest exits, but never jump in the water
without first being told to!
|
6. If you are going for a dive, attend
the briefing
We have certified and introductory diving available.
If you have never dived before, the Whitsundays coral
and fish are the best place to start!
|
7. Talk to the skipper

He tells the same jokes every day.... He has some tall
tales as well - be sure to ask him to help you spot
some tropical penguins :)
|
8. Look at the islands
The 74 islands of the Whitsundays are fully protected
and have just a few resorts. Its a beautiful experince
of nature. (Those tropical penguins are hard to spot!)
|
9. Go for a walk at Tongue Point

Come ashore for a very special view.
|
10. Walk for about 10 minutes easy
walking to the Tongue Point lookout

Sometimes you will see some wildlife along the way like
the Gould's Goanna, which can grow to 1.5 metres long.
|
11. Walk through Australian bush

Walk through the stand of magnificient grass trees, that
have taken many years to grow
|
12. Make new friends along the way

The view of Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet is notable
in this photo as well. Most people say it is the most
beautiful thing they have every seen!
|
13. Gaze in wonder

The Tongue Point look out overlooking Whitehaven Beach
and Hill Inlet is something IS probably the most stunning
view you will ever see. The shifting sands of the the
inlet change constantly to display a blue green kaleidoscope
that will never be repeated.
|
14. Step ashore at Whitehaven Beach

We then travel to the Whitehaven Beach where you step
into the postcard right from the back of Reefjet. Its
true, Reefjet backs right up to the beach so you can
walk right onto the beach (Yes, you will get your feet
wet :)
|
15. Spend time on Whitehaven Beach

Everyone is amazed at the beauty of the beach. Its 99.9%
pure silica sand. You will need your sunglasses most
days its so bright! (Don't let the sand get into your
camera as the tiny grains will destroy the lense gears!
You are best to keep your camera in a plastic bag that
seals to protect it)
|
16. Pose for a photo

Tropix Photography has a professional photographer on
board most days. There is no obligation by posing for
photos and they know how to set the scene to make a
perfect memory for you. The photos are on display during
the trip back to Airlie Beach, so you get to see yourself
on the TV screen and may choose to order some prints
for that perfect framed memory of your day in the Whitsundays.
|
17. Enjoy a fresh and tasty lunch

There is a great Australian lunch with salads,
sliced meats, chicken, fresh bread rolls and a range
of condiments.
|
18. Go snorkelling

We travel to one of the best Whitsunday Island reef
locations, where you will be assisted to safetly snorkel
on the reef, see every colour of the rainbow in the
fish and coral, and perhaps a couple of surprises.
|
19. Go for a dive to make the experience
even more special

Reefjet has a dive instructor on board to take you
on your first ever dive if you wish or guide certified
divers on a never to be forgotten experience of the
Great Barrier Reef, under the sea!
